UK wine duty calculator

Updated with the 2027 rates from the October Budget.

For drinks producers

Built for wine. Just as good for beer, cider and spirits.

Shop, drinks club, taproom events and tours, all on the same customer record. A flat monthly fee, and no cut of your sales.

One product, one customer, every channel.

Most breweries, cideries and distilleries end up with the shop on one platform, the club on a subscription app and a booking tool for tours, then spend their week moving people between them. The same person shows up three times, as three different customers, and nobody can say what they are actually worth.

Shop

Sell bottles, cans, cases and merchandise online, direct to the people who drink them, with tax worked out by where the order is going.

How selling online works

How subscriptions work

Tours & events

Gifting

Tours and experiences as gifts

Sell gift vouchers for distillery tours, gin schools and brewery tastings, or send a club membership to someone else with a message and a date.

Your website

Keep the site you have

Add the shop, club sign-up and tour bookings to your existing website with drop-in web components or the WordPress plugin, rather than rebuilding it.

Limited releases and drops

Release a small batch or seasonal special to club members first, cap how much each customer can buy, then open it to everyone.

Your taproom or shop till

Take payments at the bar or the shop counter on the same customer record as the shop and club. The iPhone app already takes cards at events and festivals.

One fee instead of three

A shop platform, a subscription app and a booking tool each charge their own fee, and some take a percentage of every order on top. On a can or a bottle of cider, that is a real share of the margin.

Marzipan replaces all three for one monthly fee, set by revenue band from £99, with no transaction fees on order value.

Prices shown in pounds. Euro pricing is also available.

One fee, by revenue band

From £99 a month. You move up a band as you grow, and you know what the next one costs before you get there.

No transaction fees on order value

A good year costs you the same as a quiet one. Your card processor still takes its cut; we do not add ours on top.

Every feature at every tier

Nothing is held back for a higher plan, and there is no limit on staff accounts, so the figure you see is the figure you pay.

Don't just take our word for it

“We made the switch from WooCommerce to a custom solution powered by Marzipan. Managing our orders is a breeze and the flexibility of the subscriptions API has allowed us to enhance our old vine adoptions offering.”

“Marzipan is incredibly easy to use, and extremely flexible and configurable. It makes recurring subscription wine clubs much easier than any other system I have used, and copes with pretty much everything we have thrown at it.”

Already on something else?

Most producers arrive from Shopify, WooCommerce or Squarespace, often with a subscription app and a booking tool bolted on, each with its own fee.

We have written up how Marzipan compares on both features and cost, so you can check the numbers against your own rather than take our word for it.
